@ChaosPunksXe There is a risk to benefit ratio for anything you do, there is NO BENEFIT to be had doing this, and much risk….. THAT makes it STUPID. And no, body work is not all stupid, some tats are quite beautiful, but you’re not RISKING PERMANENT BLINDNESS doing it either. Try to justify this all you like — IT’S STUPID and anyone who’d do that to themself is a MORON. Have YOU done this? Is that why you’re so dead set on defending this idiocy?
@placidair OMG, i feel like i’m talking to a christian zealot, you just keep reiterating the same point in different ways, but you just keep saying the same damn thing and I keep refuting. ANYTHING that’s risky is unnecessary, skateboarders put their bodies at huge risk everyday, and for what? The fun of it, that’s their value. And by music stores I meant places like Guitar Center where they sell actual instruments, my point is there are still plenty of jobs people who do this can get.
@ChaosPunksXe How about it’s UNNECESSARILY risky. They’re risking their eyes at no functional gain. There’s no VALUE to doing this, but it creates unnecessary risk to their health and eyesight….. it’s STUPID. And music stores? In case you haven’t noticed, they’re disappearing since so many people are downloading their music…. I wouldn’t depend on the notion of a job in a business that may be mostly gone in a few years….. doing so would be…. STUPID
@placidair Do you really think they’d be going for the type of job you’re talking about? Hell no, they’d try to be in tattoo parlors or music shops, most of which places like that would be more than happy to hire people who like this. This is the EXACT same thing people were saying (and still are) saying about normal tattoos. Come on, these guys aren’t going for office corporate jobs. All you’re saying is once again “it’s risky therefore it’s stupid”, which is an argument I already refuted.
@ChaosPunksXe You really think anyone is going to hire them for a job? No, not likely. So how are they supposed to support themselves once they’re out? It’s STUPID, self-destructive and risky…. NOT a sign of a stable personality or someone who’s judgment you can trust in a business setting. I wouldn’t hire someone who’d done that, and I don’t know anyone with a business who would. I wouldn’t want them home for dinner either, because I wouldn’t want to have to look at that in my home.
This whole “if it’s dangerous it’s stupid” argument is flawed, there’s danger in nearly everything you do. Driving, working in a factory with lots of mechanical parts, playing football, these are all risks. But the greater the risk, the more the satisfaction, and I can bet that for these guys, the risk was worth their satisfaction, and that’s all that really matters. To say something is stupid because it’s dangerous is just plain…….. well stupid.
@placidair Your logic is flawed. How does anyone wanting to have this done make them unfit for society? You’re making a judgment about them based on their appearance. That’s called prejudice. I think it looks cool, I myself would NEVER do this, but not because I think it’s stupid or anything, I don’t want to go through that kind of pain just to make my eyes a different color. But if someone else does, more power to ‘em, people reacted the same way to normal body tattoos when they first came out.
@insaneclown — it could damage their eyesight permanently — therefore it’s stupid. “Different” has nothing to do with it. Not everything “different” is stupid — in fact some things that are “different” are highly intelligent adaptations…. this is not one of them. This is risking the health of their eyes in order to look scary — really, really STUPID.
