@Tw0swords: When you go to deep your needle will either get caught on the skin or it wont take the ink and youll see a very faint line, or your gun will slow down …Here’s how I can tell,I go just deep enough to feel the skin vibrate in the hand im pulling the skin with….

The safety of the client is not a point of view. It’s a standard.
To not cover a piece of equipment that WILL come in contact with possible blood-borne pathogens is not only irresponsible; IT”S DANGEROUS!
    Furthermore:
Of course he doesn’t “cover his soap” when he works on you! If you’re married I’m sure he’s not really worried about getting a contagious disease from you while tattooing!

“you shouldn’t Discourage self education cuz some times that’s all you got”

Self education just means you didn’t care enough to learn the right way by getting out there and getting an apprenticeship at a reputable shop. All it takes is a little initiative, patience, and dedication.

This is funny my husband has been doing tattoos for 13 years now, he’s worked in shops and at home out of our sterile room. The thing that I don’t get is why does everyone either pick on him or defend him? You PICK your tattooist not the other way around if you are serious about it learn how they do things and then judge whether or not you are comfortable with the way they do it. My husband is the only one to ever touch me with a needle and he doesn’t cover his soap lol. All a point of view boys

  14. funkertron says:

why are amature tattoo artists called “scratchers” is it like a noob in call of duty. E.G. you have to earn respect from your piers. and if a “scratcher” cant get an apprenticeship because everywhere is either busy already or to cloak and dagger to reveal so called trade secrets how else are you suposed to learn???

  15. 1branman1986 says:

@Tw0Swords usually the needle should only go out of the tube about 1/ 16 of an inch when the machine is running. usually set my needles about flush with the tube tip or just barely showing out of the tip

  16. Icebox69 says:

You look like a noob yourself man all shaky. Epic fail

  17. Tw0Swords says:

ok people, I have a question from the pros ? How do you know how deep to go?
    how deep ?

Im always dumbfounded when these people give advice (weather its about tattooing or anything else) on a subject when they are not accomplished in their field yet….THEY ARE AMATEURS AND GIVING ADVICE ON SOMETHING WHICH THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THEMSELVES…..THEY WANT THEIR 2 MINUTES OF FAME ON YOU TUBE.
One thing this man made certain and that is this amateur will NEVER TATTOO ME…..WHAT A JOKE.
